Gloria’s Story

Twelve years ago, I became a teen parent. After giving birth to my daughter, I went home thinking everything was normal. Three days later I had to return to the Emergency Room due to heavy hemorrhaging. I was terrified and I was seriously afraid I would not be able to raise my daughter. If I had not had access to health care and medication to stop the bleeding at that moment, I don’t know what would have happened to me. Post-partum care is imperative, because the health of a mother is strongly linked to the health of her children. Mothers who give birth, regardless of citizenship status, deserve to have access to reproductive health care.
